The Church of the Lord Worldwide has placed the monthly programme tagged Victory Night Service on hold till further notice as the deadly coronavirus spreads to Nigeria, marking the fulfilment of the prophecy made last year by the Primate of the church, His Holiness, The Most Rev. Dr. Rufus Okikiola Ositelu at The Holy Mount Tabieorar
According to reports gathered by Divine Generation Media during an interview at the 9th Annual Colloquium of Rufus Okikiola Ositelu Foundation that was held in Lagos State, Nigeria. The Primate made the prediction of the outbreak of the virus at the Holy Mount Tabieorar in August 2019.
“Divine Revelation to China from the Holy
Mount Tabieorar, Ogere-Remo for the Year 2020, 18th August 2019: ‘The Lord says, this country will make new discoveries that will cause the glory of the country to be more manifested. The Lord says the secret of the ungodly and fraudsters will be exposed. And the Lord says we should pray against the outbreak of strange diseases in the country. Also, the Lord says, there shall be a breakthrough in the search for a cure”, posted on Facebook by Reoa Anthony, a member of the church.
“The above divine revelation for China was revealed to the man of God during the Tabieorar Retreat in August 2019 and published in the same month of August 2019,” Anthony added.
Primate Ositelu, who shared the post on his own Facebook page, confirmed the authenticity of prophecy to Adura International Magazine in February this year.
“Let us pray to God to have mercy and not allow this coronavirus to become an outbreak of a pandemic disease around the world, and that God should grant the world the necessary breakthrough for a cure,” Ositelu added.
In view of manifestation of the prediction even here in Nigeria, the church in a statement by its Secretary-General, Bishop Emmanuel Kolawole, pronounced the decision of the organisation to put worship services on hold in order to curb the spread of the virus.
“It has become necessary to review our organisation’s schedule of activities in view of the current situation in the country,” Bishop Kolawole said.
He further stated that as part of their allegiance and duty to safeguard the country, even as state governments have made pronouncements to suspend public meeting and gathering so as to control the spread of the virus, the Church had postponed her monthly service, “Victory Night”, scheduled to start on Friday, March 20, 2020.
“In effect, the Victory Night has been postponed until further notice, including tomorrow (20-03-2020) Victory Night Service, due to the proclamation of the governments.
“As a law-abiding organisation, we owe to God to obey the authorities. May the good Lord continually protect and preserve everyone of us in Jesus mighty name, amen,” stated Bishop Kolawole.
On Wednesday, the Lagos State Government, in a statement by the Commissioner for Home Affairs, Prince Anofiu Elegushi, declared that the state had banned all religious gathering of over 50 people within the state.
Also, the Ogun State government in a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the state Governor, Kunle Somorin, banned social clubs, halls, cinemas, nightclubs, restaurants, cafes, and sports arenas described as high-density gatherings of people, restricting the meeting of 50 or more people.
